What is alimony
Parents are obligated to support their minor children. Both parents equally bear the obligation to maintain their minor child; they must provide conditions necessary for the child's normal development.
As a rule, parents agree on the amount and payment procedure of alimony themselves, but it often happens that one parent violates the payment agreement and the matter is brought before the court.
The lawyers of the law firm “Pkhaladze & Partners” will protect your and your minor child's interests in court disputes related to alimony.
We assist parents in formulating the claim; for this, it is necessary to determine the needs of the minor, for example: the child may attend a private school/kindergarten, participate in various extracurricular activities, require special conditions or treatment, periodic consultations with a doctor, and medications.
It is also necessary to obtain evidence regarding the parent's income. The client can provide us with information and/or documents confirming the child's needs and the respondent's income, however, if necessary, our company's lawyers will assist in obtaining evidence through the court.
Based on the above-mentioned circumstances, the court determines the amount of alimony.

Please note that a claim for the imposition of alimony is exempt from the payment of court fees. Also, it is not necessary for the parents to be in a registered marriage in order to claim alimony.
