How do I register a company (LLC) in Georgia?

An LLC is registered in the Entrepreneurial Register (at a Public Service Hall or online at portal.napr.gov.ge). The required documents are: an identity card, the articles of association, and the state fee (100-200 GEL depending on processing speed). Registration can be completed within 1 business day.

Can an employee be dismissed without an employment contract?

Under the Labour Code of Georgia, the employer is obliged to give 30 days of prior notice or to pay one month of compensation. A dismissal must be based on a lawful ground; otherwise the employee has the right to challenge it in court.

How is property inherited in Georgia?

Inheritance may pass either by will or by law. The heirs at law are: the spouse, the children and the parents (first order). At the notary office you need a death certificate and a document proving kinship. The deadline is 6 months from the opening of the succession.

Divorce: what is the procedure in Georgia?

If both parties agree and there are no minor children, the divorce is processed at the Civil Registry (administratively, without going to court). If there is a dispute over property or children, the case is heard in court. The state fee is 50 GEL.
